The Apricot Squares

What you'll need:

1 lb butter
4 cups flour
2 cups ground walnuts
2 cups sugar
4 egg yolks
one 1 lb jar of apricot preserves

What you'll do:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
 
1- In a large bowl combine butter, flour, nuts, sugar and form to a stiff dough.

2- Add egg yolks, knead a few times, and divide in half.

3- Pat one half on greased17x11 (jelly roll) pan.

4- Spread on preserves.

5- Roll out remaining half of dough between two sheets of wax paper.  Peel off one side of wax paper, place this side face down on top of preserves, and remove top sheet of wax paper.

6- Seal edges of top dough.

7- Bake 30 minutes or until light brown.

8- Cool and cut into squares.
