Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup shortening and 2 eggs. Stir in 1 cup milk. Sift together and stir in 4 cups flour, 4 tsp. baking powder and 1 tsp. salt. Gently fold in 4 cups well-drained blueberries (2 boxes). Spread in greased and floured 13 x 9 pan. Sprinkle top with crumbs. Topping - mix 1 cup sugar, 2/3 cup flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 cup soft shortening.
Bake at 350. I bake it until topping starts to lightly brown
Our family has a tendency to want to make family recipes from our childhoods... however, many of our mothers have lost said recipes or the index cards they're on are so old that they can't be read. Thus a modern family recipe box is spawned.
